How To Avoid A Dental Emergency
Did we recommend a dental treatment during your last visit and you have delayed scheduling your appointment? We know that life can get busy. Over the past few months, we have seen more and more businesses and events reopen, and it has returned a sense of normalcy we have been missing over the past few years. We know that schedules are busy and ever changing. Many of our patients have recently commented that they feel like they never have a free moment between work obligations, events with friends and family, social commitments and children’s activities. No matter how busy you are, we want to encourage you to schedule any treatments we have recommended. Avoiding dental treatments can lead to serious dental emergencies and complications. Read on to learn more.
Avoid an Emergency
Unfortunately, dental decay and other dental conditions do not improve on their own. In fact, it is quite the opposite. Dental decay and gum disease will continue to progress until you experience a dental emergency and extreme measures need to be taken. With the summer fast approaching we would hate for any of our patients to experience a dental emergency while on vacation or at a special event. It is best to schedule your treatment now so you are free to enjoy your time worry free.
Be Proactive
As mentioned above, dental issues continue to progress until a treatment is performed on the problem area. For example, a cavity that is left untreated can continue to worsen until a crown or root canal is needed. Gum disease that remains undiagnosed and untreated will eventually lead to a tooth extraction and the need for a tooth replacement. Being proactive with your oral health can help eliminate additional treatments and an added expense.
